Many people with Parkinson's walk in small shuffling steps, and sometimes their feet "freeze": they feel glued to the floor, often in a doorway, at a turn, or when starting to walk. A steady beat helps the steps keep going, the way marching to a drum does. Puriy puts that beat in the phone you already carry.
HOW IT WORKS
Put the phone in your trouser pocket or on your belt and press Start. When you start walking, Puriy plays a steady beat at your own walking pace: a tick and tock through the speaker or earphones, a short buzz on your leg, or both. When you stop, the beat keeps going for a few seconds, in case your feet got stuck. When you sit down or put the phone down, it stops by itself, so meals and rest stay quiet.
MADE FOR YOUR OWN WALK
A short guided walk of about 30 steps measures your pace and how you walk, so the beat matches your rhythm and Puriy recognises your steps even when they are small. You can make the beat slower or faster, louder or quieter, and choose how long it keeps going after you stop.
BEAT NOW
A big Beat now button starts the beat any time, for example when you cannot start walking. It is on the main screen and in the notification.
A DIARY FOR YOUR DOCTOR
Press "My feet got stuck" after a freeze and "Took my medicine now" when you take your tablet. Puriy keeps your walking time, your pace, your marks and your medicine times, and shows them by time of day and by time after your last tablet. Before a visit, open Report: one page for your doctor, which you can share by message or email.
CALL FAMILY (OPTIONAL)
Turn on a big Call button for one person you choose, such as a son, a daughter or a neighbor. One tap calls them, from the app or from the notification.
TRY IT FIRST
Try it plays a real recorded walk of a person with Parkinson's through Puriy, so you can see and hear how the beat starts as they walk and stays on when their feet get stuck.
EASY TO USE
Large buttons and large text, clear colors, spoken help, and no small controls that are hard to press with shaking hands. Works on phones and tablets.
YOUR INFORMATION
There is no account. Your diary and medicine times stay on your phone, and the report leaves it only when you share it.
PLEASE NOTE
Puriy gives a steady beat while you walk. It does not detect freezes, prevent falls, or treat Parkinson's, and it does not replace your walking aid, your exercises or your doctor's advice.
