Radix is a Wear OS watch face that tells time in whatever numeral base you pick — every base from 2 (binary) through 9 (nonary), one app, one settings picker.
Each base reads the time a different way
• Binary — a row of LEDs, on or off
• Trinary — a wedge circle split into rings, a different ring size per row
• Quaternary, Septenary, Nonary — a wedge-split pie, or a chunky tile grid that fuses into a rounded shape as more of it lights up
• Quinary — the original: bars for the hour, a rounded blob for the minute, a pie wheel for the second
• Senary — classic tally marks: four bars, then a diagonal slash for the fifth
• Octal — vertical bars like a signal-strength meter
Every base shares the same underlying idea: count how many positions are lit. What changes is how they're drawn.
Pick a color scheme too — a spectral rainbow, a colorblind-safe palette, or one of sixteen named colors, each rendered as its own tonal ramp. Toggle light or dark, and turn on row labels for a cheat-mode decimal readout while you're learning to read a new base.
Radix is free, open source, and asks for nothing: no permissions, no network access, no accounts, no ads, no tracking. The entire watch face is generated from one small Python script.
