Mahjong Just for Fun helps new American mahjong players get from a dealt rack to a winning hand.
Pick the card you are playing, enter your tiles or photograph your rack, and the app shows the closest hand on the card, how many tiles away it is, where to find it on the printed card, and what to pass or discard. It walks through the Charleston step by step and explains why, so beginners can sit down with experienced friends without holding up the table.
What you get:
• Four original Just for Fun cards (2026 through 2029) built in, with every hand shown in card colors.
• Add any other card by photographing it. The hands are read into the app, shown for review, and kept on your phone.
• Tile scanning from a photo of your rack, always shown for review and editable before it counts.
• Charleston coaching: ranked passes for every step, plus a learning mode that lets you choose first and then compares.
• Discard advice, call detection and mahjong detection as the hand plays out.
Mahjong Just for Fun is free, with an occasional ad after the Charleston. It is a learning companion for games played at a real table. It is not a game against the computer, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any mahjong league. Scanning sends only the photo you take to our server for reading; see the privacy policy for details.
