About this app

Simple Android PDF viewer based on pdf.js and content providers. The app doesn't require any permissions. The PDF stream is fed into the sandboxed WebView without giving it access to the network, files, content providers or any other data.

Content-Security-Policy is used to enforce that the JavaScript and styling properties within the WebView are entirely static content from the APK assets along with blocking custom fonts since pdf.js handles rendering those itself.

It reuses the hardened Chromium rendering stack while only exposing a tiny subset of the attack surface compared to actual web content. The PDF rendering code itself is memory safe with dynamic code evaluation disabled, and even if an attacker did gain code execution by exploiting the underlying web rendering engine, they're within the Chromium renderer sandbox with less access than it would have within the browser.

Exactly what I was looking for ... lightweight reader that runs locally and allows copying of selections. Thanks. For some reason though, at least on my Galaxy S23, the highlighted selection is off by a few characters when I copy ... in other words, if I highlight a given 10 characters, 10 characters are copied starting a few characters to the left of what was highlighted.

This viewer would be almost perfect as it's exactly what I was looking for but why no option for vertical scrolling? Unless it's only a couple of pages I can ONLY read a file in a vertical format. I'll keep the app installed in the meantime for very occasional use in the hope a vertical scroll option might be available in the future.

Continuous vertical scrolling is a planned feature. You can using swiping between pages for now.

Hi, Was looking for a clean plain pdf reader and this does the job. Issue being that there is no way to set this as your default pdf app. Currently on Android 17 (Pixel) and there seems to be no way of doing so when opening a pdf from the FILES app. (The device does not have google drive, so pdf can be accessed by only files and this reader.)
