this app works fairly well easy to use but it does this stupid thing where you can't record unless you turn notifications on. I hate being bothered by notifications, I don't want notifications , they are annoying as hell. so I'm constantly having to turn them on and immediately shut them off after I record. I will look for an app that doesn't have mandatory notifications.

Unfortunately I can't trust this app anymore. I recorded a long lecture and when I renamed it the file disappeared completely, it's not in the trash, not in any other file folder I can search. I used this exact workflow before and it was fine, but this time I lost my recording. Otherwise it's a great app, but the fact it's unreliable means I cannot recommend it.

I use this app because it's free, and launches fast for capturing audio samples. For example; practicing on small guitar amps, or acoustic, even an electric guitar without an amp. Records surprisingly well, and clear without interruptions from other apps(except incoming calls). However, the compression, and noise gate can squash out ambient room acoustics, or truncating sustained notes when left to fade out. On the + side, it has really good headroom despite not having a manual input gain.
