Yoroi Japanese Watch Face

WabiFace Yoroi brings a suit of samurai armour in black lacquer and gold to your Wear OS smartwatch.

⚔ YOROI, THE ARMOUR
The whole dial is one suit of armour, seen from the front: a helmet with gilt crescent horns, a face mask, black lacquered plates laced with cream silk cords, and gilt fittings studded with gold rivets. Five round windows are set into it — two in the shoulder plates, three across the waist.

🌕 A LIVE MOON PHASE
The window at the centre of the waist shows a gold moon over seigaiha waves, and the moon follows the real lunar month: a thin crescent, the first quarter, full, the last quarter, and dark at the new moon, when only a faint earthshine outline remains. The phase is drawn as seen from the northern hemisphere. The day and date sit in the same window. One setting keeps the moon always full.

⚙ TURNING GEARS
Behind each shoulder window, two wheels of a skeleton movement turn in opposite directions, cut off by the edge of the window as if the movement sat behind the armour. Either window can be switched to a complication instead.

👺 FIVE MASKS
Change the menpo, the face mask: Black lacquer, Gold, Red lacquer, Tengu, and an Oni in blue lacquer. Only the mask changes; the helmet and the armour stay as they are.

⌚ UP TO FOUR COMPLICATIONS
Steps and heart rate in the two waist windows. Turn a shoulder window into a complication and you have up to four: battery and sunrise/sunset are ready in them, and every one can be changed to whatever you prefer. Battery and goal-based complications draw a gauge around their window.

🎨 GOLD, SILVER OR COPPER
The fittings come in Kogane (gold), Shirogane (silver) and Akagane (copper); the lacquer and the silk stay. Four hand colours — gold, silver, vermilion and amber — and the second hand stays vermilion in every one. Five colours for the complication values.

⚫ ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY
Twelve gold indices and the hour and minute hands on a black ground. The gears, the moon and the armour rest. Burn-in safe and easy on the battery.

Long-press the watch face on your watch to change the mask, the metal, the hands, the windows, the moon and the complication colour.
