Speech synthesis is okay, but not great. It'll help you with reading more than speaking or listening. It would be nice if it didn't speak all 4 or 5 versions of a word and instead just auto spoke the first one and gave you the choice to hear the other cases.

I paid for the full version and it's nice. The only thing I don't like is that most words don't have examples. This is crucial because it's easier to learn words by seeing the context of when they're used, as their meaning can change in practice. EDIT: The lack of examples is worse than I thought, it becomes really hard once you lose examples which give valuable context. They should update the app with at least 1 for each word, with more than 1 for multiple meaning words for each context.

overall positive but with significant issues. some photos are overused and lose effectiveness as memory prompts. imperfect/perfect and intransitive/transitive verb forms are not specified so it is hard/impossible to know what actual words are being tested. biggest gripe: there is no spaced repetition in the revision pile. when words to revise reaches into hundreds, it becomes very hard to remember why a card was retried. plus side: easy to use and quick to get started.
