WHAT'S INSIDE

• An analogue clock with a jack-o'-lantern at its centre. The glow pulses like a candle burning inside the pumpkin.
• A countdown to Halloween — days, hours, minutes and seconds. On October 31st the numbers give way to a greeting.
• Embers drifting slowly downwards, like ash above a bonfire.
• Falling leaves: real autumn leaves drift down and pile up at the bottom of the screen, and every now and then a gust of wind blows part of the pile away. You can turn it off.
• Ten backgrounds to choose from: from a haunted manor and a pumpkin patch to a gothic castle under a blood moon, a witch's cottage in the swamp and a raven at a gothic window. Each one is painted so the middle of the frame stays dark — the clock reads against it instead of drowning in it. On a tablet in landscape the backgrounds open up into wide panoramas.
• Or set a photo of your own and the clock will sit on top.
• 23 clocks to choose from: the classic pumpkin, a warm Lantern, a Gothic one with Roman numerals, a big Pumpkin dial and 19 hand-painted faces — a haunted manor, a ghost ship, a witch's moon, a sugar skull and more.
• Set the home screen and the lock screen separately: background only, clock on the background, or clock on black.

STRAIGHT ABOUT WHAT MATTERS

• No permissions beyond setting the wallpaper. The app has no access to the internet or to your photo library: when you pick a background, the system picker grants access to exactly one chosen file.
• Collects nothing, sends nothing, works offline.
• No ads.
