Alvin is a psychological horror/crime thriller novel by Gray Ellis (published under Grayabyss Media Group, copyright 2026).
It follows Alvin Gentry (who sometimes uses aliases like Michael or Marcus), a charming, ordinary-seeming suburban “nice guy” in the small town of Blue Springs, Nebraska. Behind the flannel shirts, neighborly waves, and helpful demeanor, he is a highly intelligent, methodical serial killer who treats his elaborate, surgical-style murders as a form of performance art or contribution to human “evolution.” A parallel storyline tracks the FBI investigation led by Special Agent Victoria Maye as she works to unravel his activities.
The official description frames it as the rise (and potential fall) of one of the most notorious serial killers in the story’s universe: “Alvin who appears to be your ‘perfect guy’ has a hidden world of darkness that his neighbors and co-workers are seemingly oblivious to until things began to become unraveled by the presence of a young lady named Victoria. Will they finally put an end to the onslaught of murders by Alvin or will he continue to grow his networks and expand his dark universe of horrors?”
It is the first book in The Alvin Slasher Universe series (a related title, The Babysitter, expands the same universe). The novel leans into graphic violence, psychological cat-and-mouse tension, and classic organized-serial-killer tropes. It was released around May 21, 2026 (with some listings showing earlier pre-order or ebook dates) and is available in ebook, paperback, and hardcover formats through retailers including Amazon, Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, and others.
