The Jacket

I absolutely love this particular book by one of America's Top 5 authors, who never gets the credit and acclaim he deserves! imho. – I've been reading "Call of the Wild" and "White Fang" since I was 8yrs old and could take out books from the Library under my Mum and Dad's Cards. These weren't "Children's Books" as such in the 60s/70s, but they truly whetted my appetite for more than "Wind in the Willows" or Enid Blyton's offerings! - but I'm happy to admit enjoying them when reading with our own kids at night, so they do have their time and place. – As I can't physically hold books or even a Kindle type device anymore, due to Arthritis in my wrists, hands and fingers, I use various cheap Audiobooks and this is one of my favourites. The scope of the series of 'recollections' from the prisoner's previous lives, is only matched by Jules Verne - & He's Top 6 in the world of literature! - imho. So, I listen. Restart. Stop after each 'story'. Then spend time thinking it through..again!🤗

Powerful and memorable story.
