Compelling and totally awesome. The narrator of this audiobook did a wonderful job, and the novel is up there with Then She Was Gone, my long-term favourite, and The Family Upstairs, which I also love. From my own experience, as the author of Distorted Perceptions, I am deeply impressed by any novelist who can expertly manage multiple timelines, as Lisa Jewell does, both in this book and others. My novel was told, although not written, in chronological order, and I found it challenging enough to keep track of timelines, even then. Lisa Jewell creates amazing, complex, believable characters, and excellent plots. I definitely prefer some of her stories to others, and do consider this to be Jewell at her best.
