Witch Worry

An Urban Fantasy Thriller of Luck, Power, and Hidden Law

In Memphis, magic doesn’t sparkle.

It bends the odds.

And someone is about to weaponize it.

When Nadia Reyes walks into a Midtown bar, she’s just trying to breathe after three weeks of unwanted attention from men who won’t take no for an answer.

Then a beer bottle tips over without being touched.

Across the room, Gray Knox notices.

Gray is a Marshal of Magic — one of twelve enforcers tasked with policing supernatural conduct under a secret Accord older than the city itself. He knows what he just saw.

Nadia doesn’t just have good luck.

She is probability.

Unregistered. Untrained. Unprotected.

And now a powerful Memphis crime financier wants to put her gift to work.

Harlan Beaumont deals in influence, logistics, and outcomes. With a high-stakes negotiation looming, he needs the one thing money can’t usually buy — certainty. A practitioner who can tilt reality just enough to make victory inevitable.

When Nadia refuses, pressure turns to pursuit.

When Gray steps in, the game escalates.

Because Beaumont isn’t operating blind.

He has his own witch.

As hidden magical infrastructure collides with organized crime, Gray must decide how far he’s willing to go to protect an unregistered practitioner — and Nadia must choose whether to remain invisible… or claim her power under the Judge’s watchful system.

In a city where deals are made in back rooms and magic moves like weather beneath the surface, one thing is certain:

Luck is never free.

And someone always pays.
