What is so special about Elizabeth Moon? I am hard pressed to define it. Her prose is competent, her descriptive power more than adequate. The scenarios very believable and there is quality in the storyline. But what makes this a series of novels that have got me hooked? I wish I knew - and I am indeed hooked.

Elizabeth Moon grew up on the Texas border, served three years active duty in the USMC (1968-71), and now lives with her husband of almost sixty years, also a veteran, near Austin, Texas.
