Stellar🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟! Fascinating, frustrating, moving novel about a young Downs Syndrome girl's 1983 murder in Whitby & the railroading of a mentally-challenged man into the nightmare of prison. I lapped this up in less than a day. Tragedy of so many lives ruined! I had guessed how the murder investigation would ultimately end but the very last pages of the story, which had turned hopeful, brought me to tears. I love Wood's plots & writing, especially the way he delves into the characters' minds.
