Without a job, Veronica Swan is pulling extra shifts at the Slice of Life Diner – especially handy when its owner, Matt Taylor, is busy getting married to her former high school nemesis. Their upcoming wedding is sure to send ripples all over Westhaven, pitting old friends against each other, and dodging disaster at every turn.

When one such disaster leads to the discovery of a dead body, Veronica can’t help but get drawn into the investigation. Westhaven’s handsome sheriff might think he doesn’t need her help but Veronica knows better. There’s nothing like a small-town for simmering grudges and she’s determined to get to the bottom of the case, before yet another person winds up dead.
