'One of the best fantasy book series of the past decade' TIME

From the #1 bestselling author of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Crown of Midnight is the second book in the epic, bestselling fantasy series that returns readers to a land destroyed by liars, where one woman's truth is the only thing that can save them all.

Never trust an assassin.

Celaena's story continues in this second book in the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.

Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become the King's Champion. But she is far from loyal to the crown. Though she goes to great lengths to hide her secret, her deadly charade becomes more difficult when she realises she is not the only one seeking justice. Her search for answers ensnares those closest to her, and no one is safe from suspicion - not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a princess with a rebel heart.

Then, one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena's world shatters, she will be forced to decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie ... and what she is willing to fight for.

The Throne of Glass series includes:
The Assassin's Blade
Throne of Glass
Crown of Midnight
Heir of Fire
Queen of Shadows
Empire of Storms

I don't know, I really gave this series a go cause there was so much hype. I dragged myself through the first book, thinking like ACOTAR, it might get better in the 2nd book... bought the 2nd book, and having dragged my way through it, I think I'm done. If you're a fan of the ACOTAR series for what comes after the first book, this doesn't appear to be the series for you. The characters just haven't developed the same level of depth, and the storyline is just dragging, what happened in the first and second books have literally got the characters nowhere. The third book promises big changes but I just can't be bothered spending money on it to be bored again.

The first 2 books were enjoyable. However, this is where I stop. I wish the main characters were a bit older / more emotionally mature, especially the female lead. The steamy scenes weren't steamy at all, either, which was really disappointing.

Am awesome, a pleasure to read. Although some scenes are a little too predictable and...say lack the elements of surprise. Still rly recommended though
