The work further analyses critical essays and interpretative traditions that contributed to the growth of English literary criticism in India. It emphasizes the role of English as a bridge between cultures and as a tool for articulating identity, history, and reform. By situating Indian English writing within broader literary and critical frameworks, the book provides insight into its unique voice and evolving character. Written in a scholarly yet accessible style, this book is valuable for students, researchers, and readers interested in Indian literature, postcolonial studies, and critical English writing.
