About this ebook

To create, one needs freedom: room to think, space to work, and the financial independence to pursue one’s ambitions. For centuries, women had little access to any of these. From this simple yet powerful observation, Virginia Woolf develops a groundbreaking exploration of literature, creativity, and gender.

First published in 1929, Woolfs masterful essay examines the conditions necessary for women’s writing and raises aesthetic and political questions whose relevance has, unfortunately, endured to this day.

This hardcover edition is embossed with silver foil.
