Following a significant hiatus, I reread this book, having forgotten the conclusion. I am pleased to report that it remains a captivating read, culminating in a powerful and impactful denouement. The narrative maintained its compelling nature throughout, proving difficult to interrupt, even to the detriment of sleep. While all characters were well-developed, I found myself particularly empathetic toward Ellie and the beleaguered mother. The narrative, while heartbreaking, is exceptionally well-written.

it literally feels so traumatic to read this book, the trauma she faced and the creepyness I felt was soo disturbing. But the ending I think somehow disturbed the book, it should have been changed.

Loved this book! Well actually it terrified me but I couldn't put it down and finished it in two days. Brilliantly written, it draws you in so deeply, leads you into thinking you know what's coming next then has a great twist.
