About this ebook

A desperate writer. An isolated mansion. A hidden manuscript that was never meant to be found.

Maya Vance is eight days away from eviction when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Julian Mercer, husband of global literary superstar Helena Mercer, has hired Maya to ghostwrite the remaining books in a multi-million-dollar thriller series his wife can no longer finish following a devastating accident.

Arriving at the secluded Blackwood Estate near Lake Champlain, Maya expects to sort through Helena’s research, notes, and outlines. What she doesn't expect to discover in Helena’s office is an encrypted, unpublished document titled *So Be It*—a chilling, raw manuscript detailing horrifying secrets about the Mercer family's dark past.

Keeping the secret hidden from a grieving husband proves impossible as Maya’s feelings for Julian deepen. But inside the oppressive walls of Blackwood, nothing is as it seems. As Maya starts experiencing strange, paralyzing symptoms, she realizes the house is hiding a far more dangerous truth—and the manuscript might not be the only thing meant to stay buried.

A dark, claustrophobic psychological thriller about deadly obsession, twisted perception, and the terrifying line between fiction and reality.

I really enjoyed Verity. It was dark, mysterious, and incredibly addictive. Colleen Hoover did a great job creating a story where I constantly questioned which characters I could trust. There were several moments that genuinely shocked me, and the ending left me thinking about the book long after I finished it.

If you love books that keep you guessing, Verity is definitely worth reading. The story has a creepy and unsettling atmosphere that makes you want to keep turning the pages. I loved trying to figure out what was true and what wasn't. It was a fast-paced and memorable read.

This book completely surprised me! I went into it not knowing much about the story, and I’m glad I did because the twists were so much more shocking. The characters were interesting, the writing was easy to follow, and the atmosphere was incredibly tense. I finished it feeling like I needed to discuss the ending with someone.
