About this ebook

Lawrence brings the Broken Empire series to its devastating conclusion

The path to the throne is broken – only the broken can walk it

The world is cracked and time has run through, leaving us clutching at the end days. These are the days that have waited for us all our lives. These are my days. I will stand before the Hundred and they will listen. I will take the throne no matter who stands against me, living or dead, and if I must be the last emperor then I will make of it such an ending.

This is where the wise man turns away. This is where the holy kneel and call on God. These are the last miles, my brothers. Don't look to me to save you. Run if you have the wit. Pray if you have the soul. Stand your ground if courage is yours. But don't follow me.

Follow me, and I will break your heart.

Lawrence brings the Broken Empire series to its devastating conclusion The path to the throne is broken – only the broken can walk it The world is cracked and time has run through, leaving us clutching at the end days. The first book was amazing. It captured my imagination to no end, and I finished it so quickly because I couldn't put it down. The second book was much the same and in both cases I was left wanting more. But this 3rd book is just complete trash, utter rubbish. It's written poorly, and drags on and on and on about things of lesser interest than the pimple you might find on your left butt-cheek. Really dissapointed in this 3rd book. Took me ages to read because I just didn't want to pick it up again (but being stubborn i can not leave abook unfinsihed) The ending is just pure pants!

A decent book. I didn't like the ending. Not too sure how he arrived there from the second book but there we go. Parts dragged, others were lacking, the ending felt rushed almost as if he was running out of paper whilst writing. Read it to finish the trilogy, but I wont go shouting about it.

OK holiday read. can be a little disjointed at times but the (anti) hero is a more realistic figure representative of medievil monarchy
