About this ebook

An enterprise-grade simulation playbook for health informatics students,  healthcare professionals, and educators facilitating cross-functional EHR  implementation exercises. This playbook places you inside a real-world Epic EHR migration at a regional hospital — as a named member of the implementation team. Whether you are a clinician, IT professional, administrator, or researcher, your role shapes every decision, every post, and every collaboration.

WHAT'S INSIDE:

◆ 46 Roles Across 4 Domains — Clinical, IT & Informatics, Administration &  Operations, and Research & Clinical Trials. Each role comes with scope, dependencies, and simulation responsibilities.

◆ Zachman Framework Quick Reference — Identify your enterprise architecture  perspective and the critical data your role depends on.

◆ TOGAF Alignment Challenge Guide — The four most common cross-domain gaps in EHR implementations, with proven bridges for each.

◆ SAFe Contribution Lanes — Scaled Agile Framework applied to healthcare IT team dynamics, with role-by-role fit guidance.

◆ 4-Part Writing Framework — A structured guide for crafting professional  simulation posts that demonstrate real-world role authenticity.

◆ Reply Post Guide — How to simulate professional cross-domain collaboration  with replies that would hold up in a real project team meeting.

◆ Facilitation Guide — For educators and engagement leads: preparation checklists, timing tables, participant timelines, and evidence-based tips for maximizing learning outcomes.

◆ Curated Reading List — Peer-reviewed sources, ONC/CMS official guides, and authoritative frameworks — all free and linked.

He holds a PhD in a health informatics-related field and continues to consult with healthcare organizations on implementation readiness, workforce development,  and cross-domain alignment strategy.
