About this ebook

From Reader’s Favorite Gold Medal-winning author David Antocci comes a fast, funny Florida mystery packed with shady deals, beach-town chaos, and aggressively territorial wildlife.

Ellis Kane came to Turtle Key to clean out his late uncle’s house, figure out what to do with the rest of his life, and maybe spend a few quiet days near the water.

Then a woman showed up looking for her missing mother.

Now Kane’s chasing leads through beach bars, shady marinas, and a floating plastic surgery clinic that definitely isn’t licensed by anyone you’d want holding a needle near your face.

The deeper he digs, the weirder Turtle Key gets: mobsters on yachts, nervous doctors, suspicious retirees, a beachside drone show spiraling into chaos, and locals who treat crime scenes like tourist attractions.

Also, the peacocks appear to be organized.

Shore Trouble is the first Ellis Kane mystery — perfect for fans of Carl Hiaasen, Dave Barry, and Janet Evanovich.

"Shore Trouble largely succeeds due to its balance of suspense and heart. The pacing rarely slows, moving briskly from clue to clue while maintaining a light, humorous tone... Antocci offers something refreshingly different: a feel-good mystery thriller where humor survives, heroes rise to the occasion, and readers can close the book with the comforting sense that everything just might turn out alright in the end."

Perfect summer read! Shore Trouble combined mystery, murder and wit. The characters were entertaining and quirky. I could picture the characters and the setting easily. The storyline was unique and kept me entertained. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series. Can't wait to see what the characters get into next.

Monty Python meets Nicholas Cage. The good guy wins (and gets the girl) in the end but the cast of characters they meet along the way, pure Monty Python. Fast paced fun read.

Loved it! Action, mystery, bit of romantic tension, and a smart-mouthed lead character. Who could ask for more!?

About the author

David Antocci is a novelist, performer, and longtime storyteller from New England. Before turning his focus to fiction, he spent years writing humor and lifestyle pieces for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette website, sharing the adventures and chaos of family life through the lens of a real-life Mr. Mom.

A lifelong lover of stories in all forms, David has worn many creative hats over the years: author, actor, musician, and entertainer. While music was his first passion, he eventually traded late-night guitar sessions for late-night writing sessions, discovering that the sound of keyboard keys is far more family-friendly after the kids have gone to bed.

David is the author of multiple novels spanning suspense, thrillers, and his brand new Ellis Kane mystery series, blending humor, mystery, and colorful characters in a tropical Florida setting. When he isn't writing, he can often be found on stage performing or spending time with his family.

He lives in New England with his wife and children.
