The genesis of Alone was sparked by a singular, haunting visualization: a man who survived a catastrophic inferno, only to retreat to a freezing clifftop to protect himself from ever feeling warmth again. In creating Blaze, my goal was not to write a standard narrative of triumph or recovery, but rather to honestly explore the heavy, mechanical architecture of absolute survival after a complete emotional collapse. The tragic conclusion of this novella was fixed from its very conception. Sometimes, despite the brief, beautiful visitations of grace—symbolized so purely by the loyal hound Ember—the psychological gravity of our past is an anchor too heavy to lift. Thank you for choosing to walk this dark, windswept path with me. May you always discover a way back to the light before your last embers turn to silent ash.
