So the latest update (09.05.22) won't finish installing, ever, due to unknown and unidentified reasons. Judging by the reviews same issue occured for many users yet there's no hotfix as of now. Amazing if you take in the fact this packet is crucial for core OS features. Regarding the necessity of updating this component in order to maintain a higher security level is ridiculous, considering the whole catastrophe Android One (and any Android platform bare few exceptions) turned out to be.

Android System WebView is an essential part of the Android experience. It helps apps display web content smoothly and reliably without needing to open a separate browser. It works quietly in the background, keeps apps running properly, and provides a fast, seamless browsing experience. A very important Android system component! 👍📱

most of the reviews here are misleading, this app does not cause your phone to get hacked, crash, degrade and so on. it is used in apps to embed websites in android apps, it doesn't provide internet nor is it a web browser on its own. It can be faster than the official chrome app if you use the Via browser, which uses this specific system app to show you websites. it is not malware, it is not slop. let it update
