MinderDay: Childminder App

MinderDay is a childminder app for keeping attendance, daily diaries, accident forms and medicine records on your phone. See who is due today, record arrivals and departures, and make a diary card to share with parents at pick-up.

THE DAY, ON ONE SCREEN
Today shows the children expected from their usual days and hours. Tap Arrived and the time goes in the register. Log meals, sleep, nappies, activities and mood in a tap or two, for one child or for everyone here at once. Allergies stay in view on the child's card.

A DIARY CARD FOR HOME
At pick-up, the day becomes one picture: arrived and home times, what they ate, how long they slept, what you did, a photo or two and your note. Send it by WhatsApp, text or email from your phone's share sheet. Parents install nothing. A copy stays on the child's record.

PICK-UP
The list of who may collect, with the password word the parent set. Anything the parent still has to sign comes up before the child goes home.

ACCIDENT AND INCIDENT FORMS
Accidents, incidents and injuries a child arrived with. You and the parent sign on the screen. Once both have signed, the form locks. A correction goes underneath as a dated note, and the signed record stays as it was. Share any form as a PDF.

MEDICINE RECORDS
A parent signs a consent for each medicine, with the dose and times they wrote. Each dose you give is recorded with the time and who gave it, and the parent signs to say they were told. Long-term medicines come up for renewal at the interval you set. MinderDay holds what was written. It gives no advice on medicines or doses.

THE REGISTER
Built from your arrival and departure taps. Two sessions in a day are fine, and absences are kept with their reason. See any month for one child or for everyone, and share the month as a PDF.

MONTHLY INVOICES
A monthly invoice for each family, from the register. Hours at the rate you set, funded hours on their own line as you recorded them, extras such as meals or late collection, and what has been paid. Log money in by bank transfer, Tax-Free Childcare, vouchers or cash. Share the invoice as a PDF.

REMINDERS
A consent running out, a signature still owed, an invoice unpaid after 14 days, a child's details due a check with the parent. The wording never names a child, because a phone gets left on a kitchen table.

CHILDREN'S RECORDS, ON YOUR PHONE
MinderDay has no account, no server and no parent portal. Children's records are stored on your phone, and you choose what to share, through your share sheet. Turn on the app lock to protect access with your phone's PIN or biometrics. Screenshots are blocked inside the app. The app uses Google services for crash reporting and usage statistics, which do not include what you write in your records. MinderDay is a tool for an adult professional, not an app for children to use.

BACKUP
Make one encrypted backup file with your own passphrase, keep it where you like, and restore it on another phone. A lost backup passphrase cannot be recovered. If you lose your phone, that file is the only other copy.

PLANS
The standard plan covers three children, with the register, diary cards, forms, medicine records, reminders and backup. Cards carry a small "sent with MinderDay" line. The three-child limit counts children you have added, including those who have left. The full version adds any number of children, invoices, the monthly register PDF and cards without the line. Forms, medicine records and everything you have written are never locked.

WHAT MINDERDAY DOES NOT DO
It keeps the records you write, in the form you choose. It does not check them against any regulator's requirements, and using it does not by itself meet them. The help screen links to your regulator's own guidance. It has no learning and development observations, so many childminders would use it alongside the app they keep those in. It does not claim funded hours from your local authority.
